Salalah–Muscat Road — HT Line Conversion to Underground Cable

Salalah–Muscat Road, Salalah, Dhofar

This project executed a major conversion of high-tension overhead power lines to underground cable along the Salalah–Muscat Road corridor, between the UAG Roundabout and the ROP Roundabout — one of Salalah's most visible urban arteries. Commissioned by Dhofar Municipality with technical supervision from Dhofar Power Company, the programme removed the legacy overhead infrastructure and replaced it with a modern underground 11 kV network.

Delivered over twelve months, the scope covered HT cable trenching and laying, jointing, termination, commissioning, and the integration of the new cables into Dhofar Power's primary and secondary substation network — together with full reinstatement of the road surface and pavements.

The project reshaped the urban skyline of Salalah's northern gateway, removing visual clutter, improving reliability, and enabling the subsequent programme of roadway widening and civic upgrades. It stands as a foundational piece of the city's modern utility landscape.
