The Rustaq Sports Complex stands as one of AHAR's most celebrated achievements — a landmark multi-sport facility that transformed South Al Batinah Governorate into a premier regional sporting destination.
Sprawling across 385,366 m² with a total built area of 40,676 m², the complex was inaugurated in 2019 by H.E. Sheikh Saad bin Mohammed Al Mardhouf Al Saadi, Minister of Sports Affairs, with the Oman Super Cup final — watched by a packed crowd of 17,000 spectators as Dhofar defeated Sur 4-0.
Designed in the traditional Omani architectural style by consultant Oman Arab Engineering Consultancy, the complex houses a 17,000-seat international football stadium with a 110 m × 73 m natural grass pitch, eight commentary booths, four TV studios, VIP lounges, and four full-size changing rooms. A 50m Olympic swimming pool with ten lanes and a 766-seat spectator gallery, and a 1,051-seat multipurpose indoor hall complete the main structures.
Within five months of opening, the complex had hosted 119 events engaging 6,570 participants. Today it serves as the permanent home of Al-Rustaq Club and regularly hosts Oman Professional League fixtures.
