A&E Unit Extension — Sultan Qaboos Hospital, Salalah

AHAR's contract, designed by Omani Arab Engineering Consultancy, extended and fully commissioned the hospital's Adult Accident and Emergency Unit — the highest-acuity and most time-critical department in any hospital — at a time when Dhofar's population and healthcare demand were growing rapidly.

This was a live-hospital construction project, demanding the highest levels of coordination, containment, infection control, and safety management to ensure zero disruption to ongoing patient care while major structural and mechanical works were executed in close proximity to active wards and resuscitation areas.

The completed extension increased A&E capacity, improved patient flow, added dedicated triage zones, observation bays, and resuscitation rooms compliant with international standards, and upgraded the mechanical, electrical, and medical gas systems throughout. As the flagship hospital of Dhofar, AHAR's work here is among its most socially impactful deliveries.
